Description

The Rallye 350 was introduced on February 18, 1970, by Oldsmobile General Manager John Beltz and made its debut at the 1970 Chicago Auto Show. However, some were built as early as the second week of January 1970. The car consisted of option package W-45, which included blackwall tires, a W-25 fiberglass hood, the L74 350 V-8 engine, N34 Custom Sport steering wheel, D35 sport mirrors, FE2 Rallye suspension, N10 dual exhaust and W35 rear deck air spoiler. This 1970 Oldsmobile is equipped with the Rallye 350 package, which was a wildly exotic and exclusive setup offered for only one year. The Rallye 350 was a special edition similar to the 1969 GTO Judge; it was a package that included performance and bold looks. Olds built 3,547 Rallye 350s; 2,527 based on the Cutlass Holiday Coupe body and 1,020 on the base F-85 Club Coupe. The remaining 160 were based on the F-85 Sport Coupe, which has a B-pillar, or "post." There was no stainless trim on the post. A Holiday Coupe's VIN begins with 33687. The F-85 Club Coupe is 33277 and the F-85 Sport Coupe's VIN begins with 33677.This particular car is one of the 3,547 1970 Oldsmobile Rallye 350's produced and has benefitted from an extensive restoration just a few years ago. The car is loaded with all of the options and comes finished in the correct Sebring Yellow. The paint on the car is in great condition and shows only a few minor imperfections. The painted front and rear bumpers show no damage, only a few minor scrapes to the front bumper. With sport mirrors, ram air hood, spoiler, correct wheels wrapped with Firestone Wide Oval tires and correct decals, the car is ready to go. Inside, the correct black interior looks great and was replaced during the restoration. The interior appears to be all stock with only an aftermarket stereo installed. The seats, carpet, dash and door panels all look great and have been replaced during the restoration. There is a small crack to the driver's side of the dash. All lights work as well as the gauges and wipers. Under the hood, the car retains its correct 350 Cu In V8 that runs great. The engine and engine compartment are both nicely detailed and painted in the correct colors. This is a power steering, power brake and A/C car. These engines were made to compete with the big blocks while emitting lower emissions. That's exactly what these cars did. The underside is solid and the car has a new dual stainless exhaust system as well as a new fuel tank. Floors are good as is the frame and trunk which includes correct matting and bias ply spare. The car sports the correct Rallye wheels painted to match the car and are wrapped with Firestone Wide Oval bias ply tires. VIN number is 336870M301237.
