This truck had only two owners before we purchased it. The truck was titled to Eldean F. Sauer of Weatherford, Okla., on April 18, 1977 where it was lovingly cared for. This truck has held up well thanks to its life in dry states, and it was kept in a garage and it shows. This rarely seen first year Cameo pickup retains all its original body panels.The Chevrolet Cameo was a predecessor to the infamous El Camino. Mid-1955 marked the first release of these light-duty trucks. Although it was a model variant of Chevrolet's light-duty pickup, the Cameo offered an array of car-like features that included passenger-car styling, fiberglass rear fenders, two-tone paint, a relatively luxurious interior, as well as power assists.We have in our showroom a Cameo pickup from the first year of production. The exterior is a classic cream color and shows nicely with no major marks of imperfections. A new wood bed has benefitted this truck, giving a rustic charm to this still remarkable pickup.
