1951 Chevrolet Custom Pickup Rat Rod All steel bodied pickup, chopped, sectioned and narrowed California "Black Plate" title Residing with the same owner for 9 years! Performance 235cid Chevrolet inline six engine Triple Rochester carburetors T-5 5-speed manual transmission 3 inch drop MotoeXotica Classic Cars rarely says "one of a kind", but that holds true for "Shorty", a 1951 Chevy Rat rod pickup. Originally conceived, designed, and professionally built a California Winery owner with a build cost of close to $70,000. Residing with the same family for 9 years this true ground-up custom fabrication, all-steel body pickup is a member of the SCTA (Southern California Timing Association) and has even been to the Bonneville Salt Flats! Finished in a Rat Rod preferred Satin black finish. This 1951 custom has a 3 inch chop with a 8 inch channel onthebody. A "Oliver tractor" style front grille and hand painted pinstripe details throughout the exterior. The trim (what there is of it) is brilliant with little or no marring. Both pickup doors contain no crank up window glass. The truck pickup bed floor is a two-tier beveled design with fuel filler cap located in the center of the lower level for easy access to the Tank Unlimited fuel tank. Four connecting rods have been welded to the corners of the bed for tie down posts. A lot of quality work, labor, and fabrication has gone into this one-of-a-kind build. Inside, the custom aluminum bomber bench seat covered with snap fastened black seat covers. Separated by a custom unfinished metal console that houses the ignition and battery cutoff. The doors are painted black with exposed door handle mechanisms which add to the overall theme and compliment both the seat and exterior. The snap fastened black carpet looks great with normal wear. The pinstriped dash finish matches the exterior, custom Dolphin gauges with Stewart Warner tachometer compliment the interior, however, the fuel gauge inoperable and there is no horn. The quick release style 4 spoke steering wheel (great for easy access!) displays well with no real signs of wear. Personal interior touches of the previous owners include, matching custom clutch & brake pedals, motorcycle shifter for the gas pedal, curved, extended shifter and art deco chrome glove box lid. This Custom Chevy pickup is equipped with a performance Chevrolet 235cid inline six engine with a Isky cam, double valve springs, hardened valves to run unleaded fuel, Pertronix distributor triple Rochester carburetors, Offenhauser exhaust manifold, Wayne side plate and valve cover, T-5 5-speed manual transmission with shift kit, 9-inch rear end, straight front axle and braided brake lines. 16-inch Vintiques artillery wheels painted red with chrome center caps and staggered Stahle sport radials. This sweet attention grabbing Chevy custom pickup makes a statement in a crowd either with it's unique design or it's distinct exhaust note! With this Gnarly Rat, you can really GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
