Originally purchased new by the grandfather of the previous owner, this elegant German classic sedan has been lovingly and meticulously maintained over the years by the same family, a fact that becomes obvious immediately upon seeing the car and climbing into the simple yet well appointed interior. Originally purchased new by the previous owner's grandfather, this Mercedes was driven daily for over 22 years racking up an estimated 700k miles, an impressive feat to say the least, however, anyone would be hard pressed to fault the car! According to previous owner, the car had an engine and transmission rebuild in 1985 just before it was given to the original owner's son who drove it sparingly on weekends then parked it in 2010. Shortly thereafter it was acquired by the grandson who drove it about 600 miles and then decided to sell it due to other commitments and space considerations. Mercedes diesels from this era are know for their almost bullet proof reliability, this example not only shows extremely well but is also in excellent mechanical condition a testament to the loving care and meticulous maintenance this car has received over the years. All switches and lamps are functional as are gauges, engine starts and runs without issue, it also drives very well and could even be used daily if desired. Finished in code correct Horizon blue over a medium blue interior that features MB Tex upholstery in excellent condition, the paint shows beautifully with only small minor imperfections visible upon close examination. Body fit and finish is quite good with no issues that we have found. Car also boasts extremely nice chrome and trim, original wheel covers, Kuhlmeister underdash A/C (currently inoperable), Retro Sound digital stereo, and has its original factory undercoating still present.
