Known for their utilitarian designs and high safety standards, Volvo has become synonymous for reliability and functionality. The PV was Volvos attempt to capitalize on the new needs that resulted from WWII, the public needed a small utilitarian car that was efficient on gas, dependable, and rugged components. Although many considered the design to be outdated from initial creation the engineering of the PV series is what made this Volvo stand out from the other European cars. This 1958 PV445 Duett is in fantastic condition considering itsage and intended use,this awesome little wagonboasts only 16,269 actual miles as stated on current title. The Duett is the name intended to signify a car that could be used as a delivery vehicle during the week and a comfortable sedan on the days off work. Volvos decision to use a ladder frame rather than the PV444s unibody construction, allowed the Duett to carry more weight without compromising the integrity of the car.
