The Mercedes-Benz 560SL was launched in 1985 for the American market, with its overhead-camshaft 5.6L V8 engine that producing an impressive 277 horsepower. These cars were fitted with a limited slip differential, revised steering geometry, anti-lock braking, anti-theft alarm system, and an improved climate control system. For 1986, the car carried a base sticker price of just under fifty-thousand, at $48,200. It became a luxury convertible with enough pedigree to make the driving exciting. Carpets, door panels, and headliner are all in very good condition with no notable wear showing. An aftermarket radio head unit with iPod connect ability has been installed and works with no problems. Under the hood, the 5.6 liter V8 runs great and goes down the road with authority. The transmission performs equally as well. When you turn the key, the car starts with no issues. Most recently a service at Mercedes-Benz of St. Louis included new, v-belts, engine mounts, and control arms. The previous owner replaced the original wheels and installed larger 18 AMG style wheels with brand new tires, which make the car much more modern appearing.
