This Alpine drives great and the engine note is sonic bliss, check out the video and turn up the volume and be impressed! This particular Alpine is #633 off the production line, making it a very early production Alpine. It is understood that from 1960-1968 over 70,000 Aplines where produced, which is still very low production number by today's account. This particular car hales from the sunny state of California and is in excellent running and driving condition. Sunbeam had produced a car called the Alpine in the early 1950s but it was more of a personal car than a sports car. The definitive Alpine was introduced in 1959 and from several angles, resembled the classic 1955-59 Ford Thunderbird. This was probably not a coincidence as Rootes employed several ex-Ford designers. Rootes approach was a bit different from MG, Austin-Healey, and Triumph in that none of the sports cars from the aforementioned came with roll-up windows while the new 1959 Alpine did. Based on the Hillman Husky platform and with a 1500-cc engine making under 80 hp. It did have a relatively plush interior, disc brakes, and a pleasant ride. The VIN is B900633 and the mileage currently shows 1,024. The car is being sold on a clean and clear California title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
