The Ford Model A was the first mass produced and first recognized station wagon in the automotive world. There were only 4,954 Woody Wagons built for the 1929 model year and not many are left in existence today due to the wood construction of the vehicles. Please see our other auctions for an equally nice 1931 Ford Woody Wagon. The exterior of the Model A is finished in both Maple and Birch wood with a high gloss varnish that has a beautiful gleam. The flares and running boards are finished in a glossy black paint which fell into the 1914 any color so long as it is black policy, implemented by Henry Ford. It is often stated that Ford suggested the use of black paint from 1914 to 1926 due to the cheap cost and durability of the black paint. The engine compartment and front are finished in a tan that also looks great and compliments both the wood and black paint. The paint is in great condition, showing only minor imperfections. The chrome is in beautiful condition with a beautiful shine. The radiator is protected with a stone guard and the curved bumper is also gorgeous. This particular Model A comes with tan side curtains on both the front and rear of the vehicle, as well as a single side mount on the drivers side. Overall, this is an exceptional looking Model A and very seldom will many see one in this superb of shape! The interior of the Model A is exceptionally simple. There are three rows of seats in the car; two rows of bench seats and one row of two single seats, that are wrapped in black vinyl that look great and show no signs of wear or tear. The tan dash only has a small simple set of original gauges that look beautiful. The varnished wood inside the car looks just as great as the outside, including the oak floor and the wood slats on the roof that are covered on the exterior with black vinyl that also looks great. The windshield pops out and allows air to flow into the vehicle to keep the driver and all passengers nice and cool as you drive down the road. Under the hood, youll find the original Inline 4 cylinder engine attached to a 3-speed manual transmission, shifted through the floor. The VIN number is stamped on a pad on the drivers side of the block as well as the engine number RBM275. The car sits upon a set of black 21 Ford spoke wheels wrapped with correct 4.50-4.75-21 Firestone Gum Dipped white wall tires. This 1929 Ford Model A Woody Wagon is in near show room condition and is not only hard to find but rarely seen out in the public.
