Under the hood is a 3.0L DOHC 24-valve V-6 engine (code 6G72) backed by a five-speed manual transmission (code F5M33). The main gauges are large and clear, with three ancillary gauges canted toward the driver. In the center console is a factory AM/FM stereo, complete with cassette deck and compact disc player.
In 1999, the car received its last exterior makeover facelift; with the new aggressive front bumper, headlamps, turn signals and sail panels. Non-turbo models kept the arched spoiler from the pre-facelift. 1999 was the final year the 3000GT was available in the U.S. market.
Competition to this 3000GT in 1999 included Chevrolet's Camaro and Corvette, Ford's Mustang, Mazda's RX-7, Nissan's 300ZX, Pontiac's Firebird and Toyota's Supra.
If you owned one of these cars in college or high school, this is an opportunity for you to own another 3000GT. Otherwise, this is a great opportunity for those who prefer Mitsubishis or Japanese cars to add another one to their fleet. A visit to MotoeXotica Classic Cars will provide more information.
