Description

Looking distinguished wearing its Mineral White Metallic paint and distinctive body panels, this BMW GTL K 1600 Exclusive is exclusive to MotoeXotica Classic Cars. We are selling for a local consignor who purchased the bike in 2022 with only 6,975 miles. (Currently at 7,100 miles)

The bike's bodywork is straight and solid and is full of features. There's an electronic adjustable suspension with three ride modes – rain, road and dynamic. It has keyless ignition, central locking and tire pressure monitoring systems. Both seats are heated, as is the driver's backrest and handle grips.

There's an adaptive headlight up front and it's equipped with Hill Start Control and Dynamic Traction Control.

Michelin PilotRoad GT tires, size 120/70ZR17 in front and 190/55ZR17 in back and it rides on a 66-inch wheelbase and seven-gallon fuel tank.

The bikes feature a new 1.6L straight-six cylinder fuel-injected DOHC 24-valve engine which is mounted transversely across chassis. The cylinders are angled forward by 55°. The engine was originally used on the Concept 6, a concept bike that was shown at the 2009 EICMA Milan Motor Show. BMW claims that the engine, which at 22 inches wide, is just 2.6 inches wider than the K1300 engine is the narrowest in-line six-cylinder engine ever produced. Cylinder bore is 2.83 inches and the distance between cylinder centers, or three inches. The camshafts are hollow, with cam lobes pressed on, which saves around two pounds. The engine has electronic throttle control and multiple drive modes which can be set according to road conditions. Connected to the engine is a six-speed manual transmission.

This model has dual saddlebags and a rear-mounted container for extra storage. The second person seating has fold-down arms for convenience and a 170-mph speedometer. The tachometer redlines above 8,000 rpm. There's a 10.25-inch, full-color TFT display, smartphone connection and more.

In July 2011, Cycle World magazine named the K1600GT as its best sport touring motorcycle and the K1600GTL as the best touring motorcycle for 2011. Motorcyclist named the K1600GT as Best Touring Bike in its 2011 Motorcycle of the Year awards. UK weekly newspaper Motor Cycle News named the K1600GT as Best Tourer at its MCN Awards 2011.

Competition to this BMW in 2014 included Honda's VFR1200F.

If you're a BMW fan, this modern two-wheeler should satisfy any rider looking for a solid touring bike with room for a companion. Stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars to check it out today.
