1965 Ford Mustang Fastback

SOLD

Description

This custom fastback is a one-off restomod and finished in Sunrise Red Pearl with Blue Pearl Ghost Flames. The flames complement the Shelby nose and functioning hood and fender scoops. The car's rear has been widened to accompany the full-size rear end. This one of a kind build was meticulously built and has stood the test of time with minor imperfections with a solid body, floors, and flame members!

Made originally in Ford's San Jose, California factory, this car has a hood scoop, unique rear spoiler, shaved exterior door handles and center high-mounted rear stop light (CHMSL) that are among the added features that make this build unique, as do the four-wheel disc brakes. The modifications were made under previous ownership. Overhauled suspension and a replacement wiring harness added in 2019.

A set of Scott Drake sideview mirrors and exterior door handles are included with the sale.

This restomod rolls on Falken Azenis FK450 radials, size 235/45ZR17 in front and 255/40ZR17 in back. Each one is mounted to a five-spoke Boyd Coddington alloy wheel with four-wheel disc brakes. The wheels are all in very good order while the tires are in satisfactory shape.

Under the hood and hood scoop is a bored-and-stroked 331 CID V-8 engine with a Barry Grant four-barrel carburetor, electronic ignition and breathing through dual exhausts. There are M/T valve covers. Backing this motor is a Ford C4 three-speed automatic transmission and a nine-inch Ford differential with 3.73 gears. A polished strut tower brace has been added. Driver convenience features include power windows.

Inside, the cabin is trimmed in black vinyl with matching inner door panels and carpeting. The high-backed front bucket seats are in overall very good order, as is the rear bench seat and matching black carpeting. There's a four-spoke Grant GT steering wheel that looks great. The dashboard looks great, with a set of three Sunpro aftermarket gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature and voltage are mounted beneath and Sunpro tach perched on the steering column. Horn is inop. The front cupholders and floor-mounted shifter help complete the interior. An aftermarket sound system is present, though the Mustang-branded Kenwood cassette stereo may be inoperable.

Whether you're a Ford fan, a Mustang aficionado or just like a unique ponycar, this 1965 Ford Mustang Restomod may be your ticket. Stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars today and check it out for yourself!
