This 1936 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Town Sedan (code FA) is no different. This is an overall all-original car with an all-steel body, sporting Chevrolets Knee-Action front suspension, a system of trailing arm independent front suspension and steering popular at the time. This example was made in August 1935 (VIN code 08) GMs Leeds factory (VIN code 5) Dressed in Navy Blue (code 197), the paint and trim are in overall excellent condition. The body is straight, the engine bay is extremely tidy, and the chrome bumpers shine brilliantly as they fit tightly to the body. There is only a drivers side taillight. The cars Art Deco styling along with its stout six-cylinder engine made for a pleasing combination to buyers as the effects of the Great Economic Depression began to ease. This car rolls on Denman wide whitewall tires, size 5.25/5.50-17 at all four corners. Each tire is mounted to a body-colored steel artillery wheel, complete with chrome center cap. Vehicle technology kept marching on. By 1934, Chevrolet ceased using wood in its vehicle bodies, going to all-steel bodies and devising Knee-Action front suspension. Underhood is a refreshed 207 CID straight six-cylinder engine. This motor is backed by a three-speed manual transmission and a 4.11:1 rear end. Inside, theres an new tan cord interior. The front and rear bench seats are in excellent condition, as is the matching carpet. A tan headliner looks new. A three-spoke banjo steering wheel faces the driver and looks great while the inner door liners and metal dashboard are in very good order. The dash has a full array of ancillary gauges. A floor shifter completes the interior. The horn and the wipers are inop. All Chevrolets took on an upgraded streamlined appearance as Chevrolet sought to take on a new and modern appearance called Art Deco, and the bodies were shared with the Pontiac Deluxe. Competition to this Chevrolet in 1936 included Fords Tudor Sedan, Plymouths DeLuxe Touring Sedan and Pontiacs Touring Sedan.
