The AMC Javelin is a pony car that was built by the American Motors Corporation between 1967 and 1974 in two generations; model years 1968-1970 (with a separate design in 1970) and 1971-1974. The sporty Javelins came only as two-door hardtop (with no "B" pillar) body style, and were available in economical versions or as high-performance muscle cars. This particular Javelin has gone through an extensive restoration and has a binder full of photos documenting the restoration from start to finish! The car was the recipient of a high quality, professional paint job, finished in the correct color of Rally Green Metallic and we are hard pressed to find imperfections! The paint is accented by two center white stripes that were professionally painted on and look fantastic. The chrome on the car appears to be new and shines bright. Overall, this may be one of the best restored AMC Javelin SST's we've seen! Inside, you will find that the interior has been taken care of throughout the years. The seats are finished in the correct tan vinyl with a matching dashboard, functioning gauges and lights. The seats show very minimal, if any wear at all. There are minor imperfections to the top of the dash and on the door handles. There is also an AM/FM radio installed in the dash. It's very obvious this Javelin was loved and you can be the next one to love it even more! Under the hood of this green beauty, you can find the 290ci, AMC V8 engine with a two barrel carburetor. Attached to the V8 is a 3-speed automatic transmission with a floor shifter. The engine compartment is very clean and tidy. The car you're seeing here has power steering, air conditioning and power front disc brakes. This Javelin has 14" chrome American Motors wheels wrapped in 6.95-14 4-ply red stripe tires all the way around, which really compliment the paint and set off the entire car's sporty look. The tires are in decent shape with no dry rot to be seen.
