The Oldsmobile 442 was a muscle car produced by the Oldsmobile division of General Motors. It was introduced as an option package for F-85 and Cutlass models sold in the United States beginning with the 1964 model year. With the GTO receiving GM corporate sanction, Oldsmobile followed suit with a big-engine 442. The new 400 cubic inch engine became standard and the definition of "442" was restated as 400 cubic inches, 4 barrel carburetor and 2 exhausts. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this handsome A-body 1965 Oldsmobile 442. The car decodes as a 1965 2-door Holiday Coupe, which was a 442 option back in 1965. From 1964 until 1968, the 442 name was applied as an option package and eventually became a model in its own right from 1968 until 1971. The 442 you see here is correct with its Target Red paint, red vinyl interior, big 442 V8, 4-barrel carburetor, dual exhaust and 2-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Target Red with a single black pinstripe accenting the sides, the exterior shows beautifully with only very minor imperfections to the paint. As mentioned, the Target Red paint is correct to the car. The body is laser straight and shows no signs of damage that we have found. The front and rear chrome bumpers are in great condition with a brilliant luster and shine. The stainless steel trim does show some pitting, due to age but it does show well. Inside, you'll see that the interior is in great shape. The red vinyl upholstery is in great condition with no tears or holes present. The matching door panels, carpet and dash look wonderful and the original radio is still operable and sounds great! The dashboard shows no signs of cracking and houses with the original gauges and it all looks awesome. Under the hood, you'll find the 400 cubic inch V8 engine with a 4-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust matched to an automatic transmission. The engine bay is tidy and looks great. The car sits upon a set of 14" Oldsmobile chrome 5-spoke wheels with black inserts. The wheels are wrapped in 7.75-14 red stripe tires that look great and really tie the entire 442 together. The VIN is 338375M192275 and the mileage currently shows 17,501 which is believed to be original.
