The Mercedes-Benz 380 SL R107 was produced from 1980 through 1986. Under the bonnet lurked an all-aluminum 3.8-liter V8 engine that produced over 150 horsepower. It engine was mated to a four-speed automatic gearbox and power was sent to the rear wheels. The 380SL was a two-seater coupe that cost nearly $39,000 in 1981. The R107 was described by many as one of the best looking cars Mercedes Benz produced to date.This particular '85 380SL is a beautiful, hardtop convertible example that comes loaded with options. With only 67,087 original miles, the car has been driven and well maintained its entire life. The Indiana title states that this is an ACTUAL mileage title. The silver paint on the outside of the car is in great condition and shows well. There are some imperfections to be found such as some minor rock chips on the front half of the car from driving and there is light scratching on the driver's side of the deck lid. The hard top is in wonderful condition and is easily removed. Both front and rear bumpers are in great condition with no damage showing to either.Inside, the blue leather seats are in good condition, showing some normal wear to the driver's seat and arm rest. The factory blue carpet is in good condition, as are the door panels, headliner and dashboard that shows no cracking. The car retains the original gauges and has an AM/FM/Cassette stereo as well as functioning AC.Under the hood, the aluminum 3.8 liter V8 runs great. Once warmed up, the car is a joy to drive and handles great. The engine compartment is tidy with no damage. Mated to the engine is an automatic transmission. It sits upon a set of like new 14" Mercedes Benz alloy wheels wrapped in newer P205/70R14 tires that look great.This is an awesome, older Mercedes and would make a great driver!
