TheChevrolet Bel Airwas a full-sizeautomobile that was produced by Chevroletfor the 19501981 model years. Initially only the two door Hardtops in the Chevrolet model range were designated with the Bel Air name from 1950 to 1952, as distinct from the Styleline and Fleetline models for the remainder of the range. With the 1953 model year the Bel Air name was changed from a designation for a unique body shape to a premium level of trim applied across a number of body styles. The Bel Air continued with various other trim level designations until US production ceased in 1969, and continued only in Canada until 1981. The 1956 Bel Air received a face-lift with a more conventional full-width grille, pleasing those customers who didn't favor the Ferrari-inspired '55 front end. Distinctive two-tone body-side treatments and graceful front and rear wheel openings completed the "speedline" restyling. Single housings incorporated the taillight stoplight, and backup light, and the left one held the gas filler - an idea popularized on Cadillacs. Among the seven Bel Air models was a new Sport Sedan. The least costly Bel Air, was the two-door sedan. Seatbelts, shoulder harnesses, and a padded dashboard were available,]and full-size cars could even get the hot Covette 225-horsepower engine. Inside, the interior is finished in the original color combination of black cloth seats. The seats are in great condition, showing little signs of wear. The black carpet is also in excellent condition and fits well inside the nicelyappointed interior. The dashboardis original and finished in a glossy black which carries over from the exterior of the car. The headliner is finished in the same material as the seats and looks period. Under the hood, you'll find a aluminum Edelbrock intake with Weber 4 barrel sitting on top of a 350 cubic inch SBC V-8 engine married to a 4-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter, auxiliary set of gauges under the dash, race tachometer mounted onsteering column, aluminum radiator, chromevalve covers, ceramic coatedheaders, Flowmaster dual exhaust, staggered 17 inch polished five spoke wheels and much more. Note: The reverse back-up lights are currently inoperable. This 50s icon is sure to turn heads no matter where you take it!! It would be an excellent addition to any classic car collection or a fabulous Sunday driver! GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! The mileage currently shows 84,863. It is being sold on a clean and clear, mileage exempt Missouri title. VIN: A56F040807
