This classic muscle car is equipped with the massive 400 cubic inch V8 and 4-speed automatic transmission. Did we mention this car is completely original and is extremely documented?! This is an incredible example of the muscle Pontic produced throughout the years!This particular Trans Am is SO clean that is has been used as an example for restorations for other Trans Am's! The car was special ordered through Pontiac and then the car was assembled in Van Nuys, California and the engine was assembled in Pontiac, Michigan. The car was delivered in Pontiac, Michigan as well ... This Trans Am is literally as Pontiac as it gets, through and through! Finished in Solar Gold, the paint is original and in incredible shape! There are very few, very minor imperfections on the hood, typical of both driving and age. The Trans Am was then finished with some complimenting brown pin stripes and the iconic Phoenix adorning the hood and B-pillars. The Phoenix decal is in great shape but does show its age up close, showing minor cracking to the decal. The body is straight and solid, as it is a true California car as depicted with the title and plates. The original glass t-tops are in fantastic shape and let plenty of sunshine in when driving! All of the other glass is intact and in excellent shape. When you sit in the car, you feel as if you're in a time capsule from 1979. The interior is in amazing shape! The interior was finished with special order Camel Tan Velour (RPO 62I) and looks incredible! The front bucket seats show no signs of imperfection, wear or tear ... same goes for the rear seats. The camel carpet is in great shape and is protected by floor mats. The door panels are in excellent shape and show no signs of wear or tear as well. The headliner looks great. The dashboard is completely original as well and houses the original Rally gauges within a brushed metal bezel. The original AM/FM/Cassette radio is still intact as well. Overall, the interior of this car is reminiscent of the day it rolled off the line! Under the iconic Shaker hood, you'll find the massive Pontiac 400 cubic inch, "small block" V8, complete with factory dual exhaust. It is commonly referred to as the 400 or 6.6L. Beneath the air breather, you'll find a 4 barrel carburetor, which allows plenty of fuel to feed into the cylinders. Attached to the engine is the factory 4-speed manual transmission, which makes this Trans Am a blast to drive in with the t-tops off! The car sits upon a limited slip differential with 3.23:1 gears. The iconic snowflake 15" Firebird wheels with gold inserts really set the car off wrapped in P235/60R15 white wall Goodyear tires. There is a spare tire in the very clean trunk area. This Trans Am would make a great addition to any muscle car collection or could easily fit in any car enthusiast's garage (& heart!) for cruising whenever and wherever! Included in the purchase of this gorgeous muscle car is all of the original documents which includes the 1979 Pontiac Owner's Manual, 1979 Pontiac Buyer's Guide, 1979 Pontiac Sales Brochure, the "History of Pontiac" book, the original Build Sheet, the original Window Sticker and a stack of receipts.
