Description

Buick is currently the oldest still-active American automotive make, and among the oldest automobile brands in the world. It originated as the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company in 1899, an independent internal combustion engine and motor-car manufacturer, and was later incorporated as the Buick Motor Company on May 19, 1903, by Scottish born David Dunbar Buick in Detroit, Michigan. Later that year, the company was taken over by James H. Whiting, who moved it to his hometown of Flint, Michigan and brought in William C. Durant in 1904 to manage his new acquisition. Buick sold his stock for a small sum upon departure and died in modest circumstances 25 years later.Motoexotica Classic Cars is offering the classic 1918 Buick Pickup that you see pictured. It has been stated that most Buick pickups started their life as cars that were later modified into pickups. This particular pickup has been tastefully put together and is completely period correct. This particular "C-Cab" has beautiful wood detail that appears to be older oak. The wood is in great condition and shows no sign of rot. The fenders and front of the pickup are painted with a shade of maroon that accents the wood beautifully. The paint shows only minor imperfections and has subtle touches of pinstriping. There are running boards on both sides of the pickup to make getting in and out of the vehicle easy. The bed is in great shape and the external fuel tank is in the bed as well. Overall, this old Buick shows very well and could be a proud addition to any collection, large or small. The black vinyl bench seat looks great. It is in very good shape with no wear or tear. The painted metal dash is in great shape. The dashboard houses a single gauge which is an aftermarket ACCO water gauge. The glass in the pickup is all intact and in great shape. The original engine has been swapped with a Model A running gear for more drivability. This little beauty goes up to 45 mph with ease! The brakes work well and the 3-speed manual transmission performs as it should. The wooden 30" wheels are in great condition and are wrapped with 30x3.5 tires that are in great overall condition. This lovely little pickup truck would be great for parade routes or for attracting customers to any small (or large!) business! The VIN is 428711, which can be found on the front of the frame on the driver's side. It is being sold on a clean and clear Colorado title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
