Austin-Healey was a British sports car maker. The marque was established through a joint-venture arrangement, set up in 1952 between Leonard Lord of the Austin division of the British Motor Corporation and the Donald Healey Motor Company, a renowned automotive engineering and design firm.The Austin-Healey 100-6 was the second of the three Austin-Healey models later known as the Big Healeys. It was built in England on June 6th of 1957. This car has benefitted from a fresh body off, nut & bolt restoration that was completed in May of 2011 and has only driven 482 miles since being finished, states the owner. The Healey has been with its current owner since June 6th of 1996. The car has been displayed at the world famous Kemp Auto Museum here in St. Louis and was personally invited to the 2011 Kemp Concours d' Elegance. The recipient of a new basecoat/clear coat paint job, this Austin Healey is finished in a brilliant shade of red over deep black that looks absolutely beautiful. There are no notable imperfections in this paint job. The chrome on the car is in great condition and bears an incredible luster and shine.Take a look inside this roadster and you will see that the restoration did not stop on the exterior. The interior is wrapped with red leather, complemented with black piping that really sets off the exterior of the car and looks superb. The dash wasn't looked over either! The dash is also the complementing two tone red and black, while housing the original style gauges that look great. The new black cloth convertible top is in excellent condition as it is new, as well as the new tonneau cover. Also included is a very rare set of one year only side curtains. The frame is polished and includes the plexiglass and rubber, but will need to be fitted to the car. As mentioned, the convertible top is new and tight, however; it does take some work to get up, but gentlemen never drive their Healey's in the rain...Under the hood, you'll find the classic Inline Six cylinder with the two port head with straight carbs. Mated to the engine is a manual transmission. The engine bay is very clean and tidy. Speaking of clean and tidy, the undercarriage is also in beautiful condition with matching red paint and stainless steel exhaust!Sitting on new 8 spoke mini lite wheels, the wheels and tires really set off the car.
