Description

The E-Type was initially designed and shown to the public as a rear-wheel drive grand tourer in two-seater coup form and as a two-seater convertible. A "2+2" four-seater version of the coup, with a lengthened wheelbase, was released several years later. On its release Enzo Ferrari called it "The most beautiful car ever made."Later model updates of the E-Type were officially designated "Series 2" and "Series 3", and over time the earlier cars have come to be referred to as, sensibly, "Series 1" and "Series 11/2".The New York City Museum of Modern Art recognized the significance of the E-Type's design in 1996 by adding a blue roadster to its permanent design collection, one of only six automobiles to receive this distinction. The car you see here is a 1973 Jaguar XKE coupe 2+2 and it is very deserving of the "most beautiful car ever made" title! Finished in burgundy, this Jaguar's paint is deep with a beautiful luster. We purchased this car out of the desert state of Arizona and it shows! The paint is nearly flawless with no notable imperfections to list. The chrome bumpers have very light and minor scratching but shine very bright to compliment the paint.Inside the coupe, the original tan interior looks beautiful. The leather interior shows no wear marks and looks great. The carpet and headliner also look great. The dash is in excellent condition and houses an original AM/FM radio. Under the hood sits the desirable 5.3L V12 engine attached to an automatic transmission. This car is equipped with AC and power brakes. Putting the power to the ground are a set of steel Jaguar wheels in excellent condition wrapped in great tires. The VIN for this outstanding Jaguar is UD1574492 and the current mileage shows 36,789.
