The Plymouth Savoy made its debut in 1951, as a sub-model of the Concord; it was a premium version of the popular Suburban wagon. 1951 was the first year of unique and distinct car names for every Plymouth, including Concord, Cambridge and Cranbrook VS the prior alphanumeric codes and Deluxe/Special Deluxe schemes. Yet, all Plymouths were essentially the same car with different levels of trim; they even shared a single engine.MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the beautiful 1956 Plymouth Savoy you see pictured. This car was purchased new in San Francisco and has spent the past 16 years living in the wonderful, dry climate of Arizona. The original Service Certificate and Owners Handbook are also included with the car! This awesome Plymouth has been correctly restored in the recent past and has been finished in the correct original colors. Finished in the correct two tone turquoise and black, the paint shows few minor imperfections and looks great. The body is straight as an arrow and solid, just like any 50s era car should be! The chrome is in equally good of shape, showing only minor perfections and shining brilliantly! Overall, this Savoy is a head turner with its unique color combination and nostalgic body lines. Inside, you will find that the turquoise and black combination is also on the interior. The correct turquoise cloth and black vinyl seats are in great condition, showing no notable wear or imperfections to speak of. The door panels and black carpet also look great. The headliner does have a few minor stains but the inside of the car still shows well. The dashboard is white, looks fantastic and really compliments the two tone interior. The dash still houses original style gaugesUnder the hood, you'll find the original 277 cubic inch, 4.4L V8 engine, which was the first of the "A" Polysphere V8s and are capable of up to 187 horsepower. Attached to the engine is a push button Powerflite 2-speed automatic transmission. The Savoy also has a 12 volt system, which was new for the 1956 model year. The car sits upon a set of chrome 15" wheels wrapped in 215/75R15 tires. The car has drum brakes all the way around.This Savoy has been actively driven and has been in Arizona with the previous owner with 16 years. This is a solid and very clean classic car. The car does come with the original Service Certificate and Owners Handbook as well. The VIN is 26584080 and the mileage currently shows 93,414. It is being sold on a clean & clear Arizona title.
