Description

The Lincoln Capri was a full-size automobile sold by Ford's Lincoln luxury division, built to compete with the Cadillac Series 62 and the Packard Series 400. The Capri readily outsold its stable mate, the Cosmopolitan, each year until the Cosmopolitan's demise. In 1955, the Capri featured a new 225 hp 341 cubic inch Lincoln Y-Block V8 (with greater displacement and, at 8.5:1, higher compression than before), featuring a four-barrel carburetor, mated to a standard (Ford-built) 3-speed Turbo-Drive automatic transmission. The car you see here is a beautiful 1955 Lincoln Capri convertible. This car absolutely radiates the nostalgic luxury of the 1950s. Finished in the correct color of Cashmere Coral with white top, this convertible looks incredible. The body is straight as an arrow, solid and only has some very small, minor rock chips on the front of the hood. The original emblems and hood ornament are intact and look spectacular with the Coral paint. The convertible top is in excellent condition, showing no notable imperfections. It is a power top, finished in white vinyl with a plastic rear window. This Capri is from an era that adored chrome - and this car is no different. The chrome bumpers appear to have been re-chromed and look great. There are only a few minor imperfections to the bumpers but otherwise compliment the Coral paint very well. Inside, you will fall in love with the correct white and coral vinyl interior which may be original for the car. Sitting behind the wheel is a real blast from the past! The front seat is actually a 4-way powered seat. Speaking of power, this Capri is equipped with power windows and a power antenna! The dashboard is original and looks great! The carpet is in very good condition as well with no signs of wear. The original Lincoln wheels accented in matching pink and wrapped in white wall radial tires really set off the entire car. This is an absolutely perfect car for a Sunday morning drive to the coffee shop, car cruise or a car show! Under the hood, you will find the 341 cubic inch, Lincoln Y Block 8 cylinder, capable of producing up to 225 horsepower. Attached to the engine is the Turbo Drive Automatic transmission. This Capri is equipped with both power brakes and power steering. The engine bay is clean and shows no notable damage. The engine still holds onto the original Lincoln valve covers that look great! This lovely pink '55 Capri comes with the original Owner's Handbook & Sales Brochure. This car currently shows 95,852 miles and is being sold on a clear Illinois title. The VIN is 55WA15811H.
