The 1939 Ford pickup truck featured the first totally new cab since 1935. The new front end, featuring an oval grill, was a pioneering design that featured the first conventional front opening truck hood in the industry. The truck also featured a modernized instrument panel and a completely redesigned pick up bed, the first since 1931. These trucks were great to get around town with and also for use on the farm. The 1939 Ford Pickup you see here is a beautiful example of the "new style" truck that came out that year. Finished in two tone dark green with black fenders, this truck has received an older paint job which looks great. The paint has a beautiful luster and shine with no major imperfections. The body is straight and solid, as a "Built Ford Tough" truck should be! The bed has a black wood floor in it and looks great. The bed rails are also wood and look beautiful with the paint. Both bumpers appear to have been rechromed. They both shine bright and show only small scratches. All emblems appear to be the classic, original emblems for the truck. The front crank out window is still operational but the original glass shows delaminating from 74 years old. The original window seal is also showing its age. Inside, the seats have been reupholstered in gray cloth and look great. The headliner is also newer and looks good overall. There is a section on the top of the passenger seat and headliner that has deteriorated as you can see in the photos. The dash has the original look but has been updated with new black paint. The carpet on the floor is newer and looks very good. The truck even has an original style fan mounted up by the roof. Under the hood, you will find the original style Flathead V8 attached to a 3-speed manual transmission. The engine compartment is very clean and has been nicely detailed. This '39 Ford is one of the many recipients of the new hydraulic braking system that was introduced to Ford in 1939, to replace the old mechanically actuated brakes. This truck still boasts its original style Ford wheels and V8 hubcaps which are wrapped with wide white bias ply tires.
