Description

\n \n \nThe E46 M3, first introduced in October 2000, appeared worldwide with the new 3.2 L S54 M-tuned engine. At the time of the car's introduction, this engine had the highest specific output naturally aspirated of any engine ever made by BMW (except in the McLaren F1), producing 333 horsepower and 262 lb ft of torque. It was only available in coupe and convertible bodies as the sedan version was dropped. The E46 M3 was offered with a standard 6-speed Getrag transmission, but optionally came with a SMG drivelogic transmission (also known as the SMG II). This is the standard 6 speed Getrag transmission with an electrohydraulically actuated clutch pedal. Shifts are made via the SMG gear knob or the steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. The engine had a redline of 8,000 rpm. As with most M engines, the S54 again had 6 independent throttle bodies and this time electronically operated throttles (drive-by-wire throttle with no cable). In 2009, Road and Track magazine announced the 2006 M3 with the SMG transmission as its favorite sports car of all time. With that designation, it's no surprise that these E46 M3's are nearly impossible to find with low mileage. These cars are so much fun to drive, it's hard to stay out of them and keep them off the road. The car you see here is a 2003 M3 that has been with only 3 owners its entire life. With only 25,000 ORIGINAL miles on the car, it's nearly as nice as it was when new. Options include SMG transmission, Dinan exhaust, Dinan front strut brace, Dinan rear shock brace and integrated iPod adapter in the glove box. The previous owner purchased the car in uly of 2007 with only 17,000 miles. He put less then 1,200 miles a year on the car, which of course was always garaged. The only time this car saw snow or rain was looking through the garage window! Finished in its original color of Imola Red with black leather interior, the car is in exceptional condition. The paint is in great condition with no notable imperfections with the exception of some very minor rock chips to the front bumper which is to be expected from age. No door dings or scratches to the body which is straight. Sunroof works with no problems. Inside, the black leather interior is in great condition with no significant wear. The seats are both in great condition with no major wear to the bolsters. There is some very minor scuffs to the drivers side seat bolster. No rips or tears to any of the seats. The carpet looks great as does the dash, steering wheel, headliner and door panels. Under the hood, the 333 horsepower inline 6 cylinder runs great and is a rocket on the road. Connected to the SMG paddle shift transmission, the car shifts as it should with no problems. The engine compartment is very clean and nicely detailed. In the trunk you will find the original carpeting with on staining. The original 19" M3 wheels are all in great condition and are wrapped with newer Michelin Pilot Sports. The current mileage shows 25,137 and is original for the car as supported by the clean AutoCheck. VIN number is WBSBL93433JR20313.\n\n
