Description

The Mark IV carried over most styling motifs from the successful Mark III, including the tall Rolls-Royce-style grille (even taller on the Mark IV), the fashionable long-hood short-deck style, covered headlamps, a "spare tire hump" in the trunk, and the taller, knife-edged fender line. The car was both longer and wider than the Mark III, and was slightly more rounded in shape, the fender line losing some of its straightness and sharpness. The wheel openings on the Mark III were somewhat tear-dropped at the trailing edge, but the Mark IV's were symmetrical front to rear in the Oldsmobile Toronado-inspired style then popular. For the 1976 model year, Lincoln introduced the Designer Series; special edition Mark IVs with color, trim and interior choices by famous fashion designers. One of these models was the Givenchy Edition. These cars were finished in Aqua Blue Diamond Fire which was an incredibly rare and unique color. While not a Givenchy series, this '76 Lincoln Continental comes finished in the rare color of Aqua Blue Diamond Fire with white vinyl landau top. With a white leather interior the color combination is beautiful and in most eyes, better looking then the designer series. We have the original windows sticker showing all of the options on the car which includes the Aqua Blue Diamond Fire paint, vinyl landau roof, leather interior, tilt wheel, cruise control, rear window defroster, AM/FM/MPX with Quadrasonic 8 track stereo tape, power locks, power vent windows and premium bodyside moldings. This totals over $2,200 worth of options to bring the price of this car new to $13,413. Along with the window sticker, we have receipts in hand that total over $16,000 that show the bumpers have been rechromed, carb was rebuilt, new brakes all around and new paint in 2006. The paint on the car is nearly perfect with no imperfections to note. The paint is a base coat/clear coat that has an unbelievable shine and luster. It is in show quality condition and by far better than new. Even the front nose is free of any major rock chips. The white vinyl landau top is equally as nice and matches the pattern of the deluxe body side moldings. Both front and rear bumpers have been rechromed and look great with no damage or pitting. Inside, the white leather interior is nearly perfect and shows no rips, tears or staining. Both front seats are power and work with no problems along with all of the windows, lights and gauges. The black carpet is a deep pile and looks great with no notable wear showing. The only wear we have found is some cracking to the drivers and passenger side door handles inside. These are easily found and replaceable items. Under the hood, the big 460 Cu In V8 runs great and is connected to the C-6 automatic transmission. The engine compartment is very clean and original with no damage showing. In the trunk, you will find correct carpeting as well as a full size spare and jack. This is a wonderful and rare Mark IV that is a pleasure to drive and is sure to draw the envy and attention of all Continental owners and followers. The current mileage shows 25,010 and the VIN number is 6Y89A855702. The car is being sold on a clean title showing that the previous owner has had the car since May of 2005.
