Description

By 1971 the Ford Mustang had grown 8 inches longer and 6 inches wider then the original 1965 model. The Mustang was now a full fledge muscle car moving beyond the 2+2 market niche it created. Engine choices ranged from six cylinder economy to the mighty 429 Super Cobra Jet V8. Starting in 1973 though, many forces were converging to signal a change from the fast and furious start of the 2 + 2. Soaring gas and insurance costs and the addition of emissions and safety equipment brought the muscle car era to an end and Ford began positioning the Mustang as more of a luxury car. The end of 1973 would begin a hiatus for both the V8 engine and the convertible. This '73 Mustang Convertible comes with a host of options and is finished in its original color of medium blue which looks great. The car has had a correct Mach1 hood installed as well as a spoiler and correct Mach1 stripes. This car has the entire Mach1 look without the price! The car comes with the "H" code 351 V8 connected to the 3 speed Ford-O-Matic transmission. The car's paint is in very good condition with very little to no blemishes, there are a few minor spots of touch up but nothing major. The convertible top shows no rips or tears and shows no staining. The rear window is glass. The rear bumper looks to have been rechromed and shows no major blemishes or pitting to the chrome, it retains a fantastic shine and luster. All of the Mach1 decals look great with no imperfections. The interior of the car is finished in the original shade of Blue which looks great. Both front bucket seats look great with nearly no wear to be found. The same goes for the dash, door panels and carpet which are all in very good condition with only very minor wear showing. The factory gauges on the car remain in place and all function properly along with all lights, blinkers, wipers and horn. The car is powered by a 351 c.i. V8 under the hood that runs like it should. The engine performs well with just a turn of the key. On the road the car has plenty of power and drives straight as an arrow. The 351 is connected to the FMX automatic transmission that shifts with no problems. The wheels have been replaced with American Racing Wheels that are wrapped with newer radial tires. This is a great driving and looking Mustang that has all of the Mach1 looks without the price. The VIN# is 3F03H202053 and the odometer reads 81,038.
