This sexy sports car was produced to recreate the iconic and original GT40 by Indianapolis 500 winner, Ari Luyendyk's engineers, to an extremely high quality using state of the art materials. This particular GT40 clone was designed by Andrew Broadley, whose father built the original GT40 at Ford between 1966 and 1969. As you may imagine, this car is EXTREMELY accurate to the original and uses NO South African parts or body panels, like many of the other "kit" cars available today. Reportedly, only 16 of these examples have been built - which were awarded the "Best Domestic Automobile" at the 2006 Las Vegas SEMA Show, where they were showcased by Roush. Finished in the iconic Ford Blue with white stripes, the exterior of this car is HOT. The body lines are aggressive and aerodynamic and the paint is in excellent condition. Both doors open effortlessly. As mentioned, the ENTIRE body is made of carbon fiber, making it INCREDIBLY light. The GT40 weights a slender 2,016lbs! You WILL turn heads everywhere you go in this car, as well as receive a lot of thumbs up and smiles!Inside, the interior is very snug, but not nearly as snug as you would think! When we videoed the car, myself (5'10") and our photographer (6'3) both fit comfortably inside. The black leather racing seats are in great condition and each seat has a 5-point Simpson racing harness. The dash houses a full set of racing gauges, all of which function properly. There isn't much to the interior, but why should there be? This car is about raw speed and performance! The car is powered by a powerful, rear mounted 351 Windsor Ford Racing engine, capable of producing upwards of 550 horsepower with 535 foot pounds of torque. This car sounds incredible! The video we have posted with it does not do the car justice! Attached to the engine is a heavy duty 5-speed manual transaxle that shifts beautifully. I personally had the opportunity to drive this car while we made our video and I can safely say that this car is definitely in the Top 3 Most Fun Car's I've Ever Driven list! The GT40 sits aggressively upon a set of deep dish 17" polished wheels wrapped in 255/40ZR17 tires in the front and 315/35ZR17 tires in the rear. The car is equipped with 4-wheel disc power brakes to easily stop this beast. The brake pedal takes a little getting used to because it's not super sensitive, but rest assured that the brakes do work well. It should be noted that this car is equipped with air conditioning so that you don't cook in the summer! Power, esthetics AND comfort! The power mixed with the roar of the engine and smooth manual transmission makes for an incredible driving experience! Anyone who drives this car is guaranteed smiles for miles and miles and miles! The mileage currently shows 941 and the VIN is AZ337630. It is being sold on a clean and clear Arizona title as a 1966 Ford GT40. Keep in mind that this vehicle may or may not be titled as a "Special Construction Vehicle" and may or may not be eligible for registration and/or title in California. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
