The 1970 Riviera was restyled from previous years. Exposed quad headlamps were nearly flush-mounted, while the new front bumper wrapped around and over the new vertical bar grille, set between the headlamp pods. A newly optional side trim feature accented the large coupe's flowing lines. Skirted rear wheels became standard, with exposed wheels an option. At the rear, a new rear bumper/taillight motif was seen. The engine was upgraded to 455 cu in, the largest engine Buick offered to date, rated at 370 horsepower gross, 245 hp net, and over 500 lb ft of torque. Despite the fact that '70 sales dropped to 37,366, the second-generation Riviera proved more successful than the first, with 227,669 units sold over five seasons.This 1970 Buick Riviera is said to be a two owner car that comes loaded with options and is ready for the road. The paint on the car is in very good condition and has been resprayed silver with dark gray accents. This is a base coat / clear coat paint job. With the fender skirts on the rear, the car is really set off from the rest. All of the stainless trim is in very good condition with no major nicks or dings, just some minor pitting. The same goes for the front and rear bumpers. Inside, the interior is all new and looks great. It's been reupholstered in a gray cloth with matching carpet and headliner. The door panels, dash and kick panels are equally as nice with only some very minor cracking showing to the driver's side of the dash. All of the power windows work with no problems. Under the hood, the big 455 Cu In V8 runs great and is connected to the automatic transmission. The engine compartment has been nicely detailed and shows no signs of damage. Turn the key and the car starts right up with no issues and goes down the road smooth with tons of power from the big V8. The motor is said to have been rebuilt around 30,000 miles ago but we have no documentation to support this. The trunk area has been carpeted and looks great. The correct Rally wheels are wrapped with BF Goodrich Radial T/A's that have good tread life left on them. This is a front disc brake car.
