Description

The Morris Minor was the first British car to ever reach a production rate of one million. Originally called the Mosquito, the Morris Minor was introduced at the Earls Court Motor Show on September 20th, 1948. After the millionth Minor rolled off the production line on December 22nd 1960, the Morris Minor 1000 was introduced.Receiving an upgrade in 1962, the Minor 1000 now featured the 1098cc engine which improved power output. It also received a larger clutch, more improved heater and rear lights and larger drums on the front. This 1965 Morris Minor 1000 Convertible was restored in England and imported to the United States a number of years ago. Still in very good condition, the car is a blast to drive and is almost guaranteed to be the only one at the next car show!Outside, the car is in very good overall condition. The paint and burgundy soft top were both done during the restoration in England. The paint does show a few small blemishes but no rot to the very solid body. The front and rear bumpers are both in good condition and have a nice shine to them with no major imperfections. The vinyl burgundy soft top is free of any rips or tears and operates as it should. The plastic rear window is free of any staining or tears. Inside, the interior looks great with only some minor wear showing to the carpet. The reupholstered red vinyl seats look great with and show no major wear. The same goes for the red door panels and kick panels. This is a right hand drive car which makes it even more fun driving down the road! The gauges all work as they should in the center as well as all lights, blinkers and horn. The car has had seat belts added.Under the hood, the little 1098cc 4 cylinder starts up with a turn of the key. The engine is nicely detailed and appears to be very original. The 4 speed manual transmission shifts as it should and the clutch is strong. The underside is very solid with no rot that we have found. There has been a slight coat of undercoating applied to prevent any rust in the future. The VIN number is MA2S51102174 and the current mileage shows 47,261.
