Mounted on a wheelbase of 109.5 inches, total length of 1960 Ford Falcon sedans were just 181.2 inches, while the wagons stretched out to 189. The compact Falcon was just 70.3 inches wide -- nearly a foot narrower than a standard-size Ford -- and stood 54.5 inches high. Curb weight was kept as low as possible, topping out at 2,422 pounds, just 22 pounds over the package target. A totally new engine was a part of the Falcon project. An overhead-valve inline six, it used a bore of 3.5 inches with a 2.5-inch stroke for a total displacement of 144 cubic inches. With a compression ratio of 8.7:1, this little six was rated for 90 horsepower at 4,200 rpm, and delivered peak torque of 138 pound-feet at 2,000 rpm. Equipped with a single-barrel Holley carburetor, gas mileage was touted to be in the range of a little under 30 miles per gallon for city driving and a little over 30 for highway cruising.This first-year 1960 Ford Falcon has received a full restoration to superb factory condition. The Adriatic Green 2 door features a sparsely-appointed Gray bench seat interior and uses the new 144 CI thin wall-casting inline-6 engine that was part of the Falcon project, mated to a 2-speed automatic. This fine-running low-key Ford compact, one of America's first, is finished off with color keyed steel wheels, small hubcaps and wide Whitewall tires.The paint on the car is nearly perfect and was done in the original color of Adriatic Green. This was a show quality restoration as well as paint job. The bumpers in the front and rear are both in great condition with no imperfections to note. They have both been rechromed as well as the door handles and mirror. Inside, the original style interior is exactly how you purchased it in 1960. The seats are recovered in the original pattern and colors and look great with no imperfections. The floors are covered by the original style rubber mat which is new as is the headliner and door panels. The car even has the original style heater instructions on the knobs. All of the gauges are in good working order as are the lights, blinkers, wipers and horn. Under the hood, the 144 Cu In inline 6 cylinder which has been rebuilt and is connected to the seldom seen automatic transmission. Most of these cars were 3 speed manual cars. The engine compartment is highly detailed and finished in the same color as the body. With a turn of the key, the motor roars to life and runs extremely smooth. The transmission shifts as it should with no known issues. The body matching wheels are wrapped with new wide white bias ply tires and covered with correct Ford hubcaps. In the trunk you will find the correct body matching spare with new bias ply tire and correct matting. Included with the sale is the original vehicle invoice as well as the original owners manual.
