Description

The Series 3 Alfa Romeo Spider was previewed in North America for the 1982 model year with the introduction of 2.0 liter Bosch electronic fuel injection to replace the SPICA mechanical injection. The Spider underwent a major styling revamp in 1983, which saw the introduction of black rubber front and rear bumpers. The front bumper incorporated the grille and a small soft rubber spoiler was added to the trunk lid. The change altered the exterior appearance of the car considerably and was not universally praised by enthusiasts. Various other minor mechanical and aesthetic modifications were also made, and the 1600 car (never available in North America) dropped the "Junior" name. This 82,000 original mile '85 Alfa Romeo Spider is a great driving little convertible that is ready for everything from everyday driving to track days. The car has had custom vinyl applied to give it a custom look that looks great. The hood, trunk lid and tops of the front fenders have been painted flat black. There has been a red vinyl checkerboard pattern applied that looks great. The red paint shows some minor scratches and dings and appears to be original for the car. The front spoiler does have some minor scratches and dings and is solid overall. There have been fog lights installed in the front bumper. The rear spoiler does have some minor cracking to the rubber which is common for these. Inside, the seats are in good overall condition and have been recovered. The seats show no major wear, just some scuffs and fading. The carpet is new and is in very good condition. The dash does show some cracking. The car recently passed a Missouri State Safety Inspection so all lights, blinkers, horn and wipers are in good working order still. Under the hood, the inline 4 cylinder runs great and goes down the road with no problems. This car was recently driven to us from over an hour away with no issues. The engine compartment is very clean and shows no signs of previous damage. The 4 speed manual transmission shifts as it should and the clutch is strong. The car has had new shocks installed all around and has been slightly lowered to improve handling. The original wheels have been replaced by 16" aftermarket wheels that look great and are wrapped with Nitto radials. The miles currently show 82,025 and is said to be actual for the car. VIN number is ZARBA5416F1020753 and the car is being sold on a clean Missouri title.
