Description

In 1941 the one piece hood came down lower in the front, included the side panels and extended sideways to the fenders. A single rectangular panel of louver trim was used on each side of the hood. The rectangular grille was wide, vertical, and bulged foreword in the middle. Rectangular parking lights were built into the top outer corners of the grille. Headlights were now built into the nose of the fenders and provision for built in accessory fog lights was provided under the headlights. Three chrome spears appeared on the rear section of all four fenders. Rear fender skirts were standard. The Series 62 offered the only 4-door convertible built by Cadillac in 1941 and it would be the last time this body style was ever made by the marquee. All Cadillac's shared the same 346 cu in, 135 hp L-head V8 that year, with power rising to 150 hp.Sales more than quadrupled to 24,734, accounting for 37% of Cadillac sales in a sales year that well more than doubled the previous Cadillac sales rate record set during the two model years of 1926-27, in part due to the huge popularity of the new Series 61. Evidently the new "torpedo" style with its low streamlined running-boardless bodies and expansive shoulder room had proved a big hit. The following model year, abbreviated as it was by a world war, would set no such sales record. The '41 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe you see here is a relatively rare Cadillac with this being one of only 1,985 produced. The car has benefitted from an older restoration and is still in very good condition today. Options on the car include fender skirts, AM radio, back up lights, dish hubcaps and trim rings. This car also has the very rarely seen running boards which is extremly rare to see on coupes. The correct Berkshire Green paint on the car is in good overall condition but has a few thin spots. Most notably the top of the driver's side fender and top of the hood are thin and there is some pitting on the rear trunk lid. All of the chrome on the car is in great condition and retains a wonderful shine. The same goes for the bright work and stainless, which only show a few minor spots of pitting. In the photos, the hood ornament was not pressed down and seated like it should. It does seat properly. Inside, the seats are in great condition and finished in the correct color and style. The same goes for the door panels, headliner, carpet and walnut dash. There are no notable imperfections showing to the interior of the car and all of the stainless trim and wood is in great condition. The interior appears to have been restored just a few years ago. There is some cracking to the steering wheel. In the trunk you will find original style mats with a full size spare and jack. The body colored wheels come with trim rings and hubcaps that all look great. The wide white wall tires are all virtually new and in great condition. VIN number is 8353023 and the current mileage shows 61,178. The car is being sold on a clean Florida title showing that the previous owner has had the car since 2003.
