A major facelift with new grille and taillights and revised rear design highlighted the 1960 Oldsmobile's. The larger 315 hp 394 cubic-inch Rocket V8 continued as standard power for Super 88 models. Dynamic 88s continued with the 371 cubic-inch Rocket V8 that was detuned to 240 hp thanks to a lower compression ratio that permitted the use of lower-priced regular gasoline. Other changes included a revised instrument panel and a slimmer transmission tunnel for improved interior space.The car you see here is an incredible time piece that has been with only one owner since new. We recently purchased this car from the nephew of the original owner who purchased the car brand new from Mikkls Oldsmobile in Ottumwa Iowa on November 17, 1959. We have all of the original manuals as well as the original Protect-o-plate for the car and copy of the original title! The paint on the car is said to be original and as far as we can see, it is. There are a few minor scratches and dings showing and a bit of minor cracking to the paint but overall it looks great. All of the chrome and stainless looks great with no pitting or notable imperfections. The front and rear chrome bumpers show only minor pitting from age. The top is original for the car and is power. It goes up and down with a flick of a switch and shows no holes or tears. Just some very minor staining and minor splitting around the window seam. The plastic rear window is in good condition with no tears, just some minor staining. Inside, the original red interior is in very good, original condition with no major imperfections. It does show some wear from age but this is expected from a 52 year old car. The carpet does show some staining but are in good condition and covered with original mats. The seats are in good condition with no rips or tears. The same goes for the door panels and kick panels. All gauges are in good working order as well as the original AM radio. There has been an aftermarket gauge package installed that includes oil pressure and water temperature. Under the hood, the 394 Cu In V8 runs great and is connected to an automatic transmission. The engine compartment is extremely clean and original with no modifications or damage to be found. This is a power steering and power brake car. The original wheels and hubcaps look great and are wrapped with correct bias ply tires that have good tread left on them. The trunk is solid and includes an original style spare. Mileage currently shows 67,453 and is said to be original for the car. VIN number is 608K02372. The car is being sold on a clean, Iowa title.
