Description

Cadillac's were restyled and re-engineered for 1961. The new grille slanted back towards both the bumper and the hood lip along the horizontal plane and sat between quad headlamps. New forward slanting front roof pillars with non-wraparound windshield glass was seen. The revised rear window treatment had crisp, angular lines with thin pillars on some models and heavier, semi-blind-quarter roof posts on others. 1962 was the 60th anniversary year for Cadillac. The automaker produced 160,840 Cadillac's during the year, all equipped with the new dual-safety braking system and 59 percent sold with air conditioning. With GM settling into a styling groove, Cadillac's '62s were basically toned-down '61s. Highlights included still-lower fins, front-fender cornering lights as a new option, a somewhat tamer grille, and backup/turn/stop lights combined behind a single white lens. Four-window sedans received more orthodox rooflines but still included a pair of short-deck variants, which were now named Series 62 Town Sedan and DeVille Park Avenue. A new braking system with dual master cylinder and separate front and rear hydraulic lines appeared, a portent of the future. This particular 1962 Cadillac Series 62 has gone through a very tasteful restoration to bring it to the standards you see today. Finished in white with red interior, this Series 62 is a wonderful driving Cadillac that is loaded with options. The white paint on the car is in very good condition and has been resprayed in the last few years. Sprayed over the solid body, the car is very straight with good body lines and gaps. The power top works with no issues and is in very good condition. Both front and rear chrome bumpers are in good condition and have been rechromed. No notable pitting or damage to be found to either. The same goes for the stainless bright work and trim.Inside, the interior is all new and in great condition. The dash, carpet, seats and door panels are all new and finished in a deep red. The front seat is power as well as all of the windows. All lights, blinkers, wipers and horn works with no issues. The car still retains its original AM radio and Autronic Eye. Under the hood the motor is very clean and free of any damage. With power steering and power brakes, the car is a joy to drive and is tons of top down fun. The mileage shows 32,893 and the VIN number is 62F104570. The car is being sold on a clean Kentucky title showing that the car has been with the same owner since 1997.
