Description

The Chrysler TC automobile came about as the result of collaboration between Chrysler and Maserati, an arrangement rooted in the friendship of the charismatic men in charge of the two companies, Lee Iacocca and his friend Alejandro de Tomaso. The link was perhaps ahead of its time, with the low-volume Maserati providing its image and tuning expertise, and the high-volume Chrysler providing it's engineering and sales capabilities. The basic idea was to add some glamour to Chrysler (and some profit to Maserati); As it finally worked out, by late 1988 an assembly line of sorts had been set up in Milan, where standard Chrysler engines (a 2.2 liter turbo for 1989, a Mitsubishi V-6 in 1990 and 1991) with automatic transmissions were sent to be mated to the largely handcrafted bodies, the whole cars then being shipped back to the U.S. for sale only by selected Chrysler-Plymouth dealerships. The TC featured a detachable hard top with opera windows and a manually operated cloth lined convertible top that was available in either tan or black. For the 1989 model year, interior leather colors were ginger or bordeaux. Available exterior colors were yellow, red, or cabernet. The bourdeaux interior was only available with the cabernet exterior, both of which were dropped in 1990 when black and white exterior colors were added along with a black leather interior. The car you see here is an extremely clean example of a one owner car that is currently only showing 29,283 original miles! This car was recently purchased out of an estate and is one of the cleanest, original examples we have ever seen. The car comes with all of the original manuals, books and even spare keys and key chains still in the original cardboard packaging. Also included is the original window sticker, vehicle invoice and a stack of receipts that is separated by year and organized. This was a very particular owner that kept EVERYTHING. The car even includes an original leather bound kit with Swiss army knife, screw driver, pliers, leather gloves, electrical tape and hand cleaning wipes. The original paint on the car is in excellent, original condition with on imperfections to note. The chrome and stainless trim around the car is equally as nice with no pitting or damage to be found. The convertible soft top shows no rips or staining and goes up and down with no issues. The hard top is as nice as the rest of the car and shows only very minimal delaminating passenger side port hole window. None is showing to the drivers side. Inside, the leather seats are in wonderful condition with no major wear. There are no holes to the seat bottoms where you will typically find wear. The seat bolster on the drivers side shows minimal wear which is common. The rest of the leather looks great with no rips or staining. The same goes for the carpet, door panels, kick panels and storage area behind the seats. All gauges are in good working order with no problems as well as the lights, blinkers, radio, horn and A/C. Under the hood, the engine compartment is very original and clean. The turbo charged four cylinder engine runs great and goes down the road with no issues. Connected to the automatic transmission, the car is a blast to drive and has no issues we have found on the road. Current mileage shows 29,285 which is actual for the car. VIN number is ZC2FP1101KB201983. The car comes with stacks of receipts showing regular maintenance and that the car was taken in on a yearly basis to get checked. If anything was wrong, it was replaced or fixed.
