Description

The Townsman name was first used in 1953 on the 210 series four-door station wagon. For 1954, the name was shifted to the luxury Bel Air series station wagon, which featured Di-Noc woodgrain paneling. In both years, all Townsmans were eight-passenger models. In 1955 and 1956, the Townsman was once again a 210, but in 1957 it was available as both a 210 and a Bel Air. All 1955-1957 Townsmans were six-passenger models. A 235.5-cid inline six-cylinder engine was standard power in all five years, with V8s available beginning in 1955.This 1955 Chevrolet 210 Townsman Wagon has just come out of an eight year, extensive restoration. This incredible wagon is new throughout and drives as good as it looks. The interior has been changed to all leather, the motor has been replaced with a new 350 Cu In V8 and the entire car has been repainted in a bright red that looks great with the red wheels, beauty rings and mini hubcaps. The paint on the car is in near perfect condition with no notable imperfections. The paint is newer and is a base / clear. The door seams and hood seams all look great with no uneven caps. The body is incredibly solid with no notable spots of filler. We've gone around the car with a magnet and it holds tight everywhere. All of the chrome trim on the car appears to have been replaced and shows no pitting or damage. The same goes for the front and rear chrome bumpers. Inside, the tan leather is in perfect condition with no staining, rips or tears. The carpet is new as well as the headliner, door panels and kick panels. The door panels have been finished in the same pattern as the seats and look great. Power windows have been installed that all operate as they should. The tilt column has been chromed and has a leather wrapped steering wheel attached. All gauges are new from Auto Meter and operate with no issues as well as the lights and blinkers. Under the hood, you will find an extremely well detailed and clean engine bay. The 350 Cu In V8 runs great and is fed through an Edelbrock 4bbl carb. The belts have been replaced with a single serpentine belt system that looks great. Options under the hood include power steering, power brakes and A/C. There has been an aluminum Brice Thomas radiator installed to keep this wagon cool all year long. The transmission is a four speed automatic with overdrive that shifts as it should. The underside of the car is solid very clean. The rear end is a 10 bolt with coil over shocks and the front has been fitted with disc brakes. The painted steel wheels with trim rings and mini moon Chevrolet hubcaps really set the car off and are wrapped with newer radials all around. VIN number is B55F098863 and the mileage currently shows 13.5.
