Description

The Eldorado model was part of the Cadillac line from 1953 to 2002. The Cadillac Eldorado was the longest running American personal luxury car as it was the only one sold after the 1999 model year. Its main competitors included the Lincoln Mark Series and the lower-priced Buick Riviera and Oldsmobile Toronado. The Eldorado was near the top of the Cadillac line during the early part of its existence. In fact the original 1953 Eldorado convertible and the Eldorado Brougham models of 1957-1960 were the most expensive models that Cadillac offered those years, and the Eldorado was never less than second in price after the Cadillac Series 75 until 1966.In 1976, when all other domestic convertibles had vanished, GM heavily promoted the American industry's only remaining convertible as "the last American convertible". 14,000 would be sold, many purchased as investments. The final 200 convertibles produced were designated as "Bicentennial Edition" commemorating America's 200th birthday. These cars were white with a dual-color red/blue.This beautiful vehicle has been finished in classic and code correct Cotillion White over a very nice mostly original white and blue interior, this 76 Caddy is a great driving example of this GM classic. The exterior of the car is in wonderful condition and shows no major imperfections to speak of. The power convertible top works with no issues and is free of rips or tears. Inside, the white and blue interior looks great. The dash is free of cracking or buckling and all of the wood is in great condition. The white seats look great in the front and back with no rips, tears or staining. The healthy 500 cubic inch V-8 engine under the hood runs great and has recently completed a 100+ mile trip with no issues. Connected to the automatic transmission, the car drives down the highway, keeping up with modern day traffic with no issues. This Eldorado also boasts new tires, spare tire and jack, new battery, new exhaust, newer convertible top and new carpet. 1976 was the last year for the full sized Cadillac convertible and thus was the end of a great era in American automobile history. Top shelf examples of these great cars can, and do, bring over $40,000! This solid and superb driving example will provide all the great Caddy enjoyment and collectability without the monster price tag. The VIN is 6L67S6Q186696 and is being sold on a clean Tennessee title showing the prior owner owned the vehicle since 1998. Miles currently show 81,869 which is said to be actual for the car.
