Description

The big Buick of 1962 carried four vent ports per front fender and featured a rakish sculptured restyle of its 1961 guise. The hardtop coupe and standard hardtop sedan featured a convertible inspired semi-formal roofline, while the Riviera hardtop sedan continued to use six-window pillarless configuration. Electra 225 rear fenders had a group of vertical hash marks, with Electra 225 spelled out in block letters just above. A full length bright strip crowned the upper body ridge, while the tower rocker molding and wheel houses were accented with bright trim. Interiors were of the finest cloth and on the convertible, leather was used. Standard features included directional signals, full-flow oil filter, dual speed electric windshield washer/wipers, deluxe steering wheel, cigar lighter, step-on parking brake, dual armrests, Turbine-Drive transmission, padded dashboard, heater, defroster, glovebox light, back-up lights, power steering, glare-proof rearview mirror, power brakes, power brake signal light, safety buzzer, courtesy lights, two-way power seats, power windows, Super Deluxe wheel covers, Safety option group, custom padded cushions, Accessory Group options and custom moldings. The '62 Buick Electra 225 Riviera hardtop sedan you see here has benefited from an extensive restoration to bring it to national show standards. With awards ranging from the Senior award with the Antique Automobile Club of America to the Buick Club of America Gold Senior award, the car is exquisite in every way. With only 2,000 miles since the total mechanical and cosmetic restoration, the car is nicely broken in and ready to go. The paint on the car is nearly perfect with no notable imperfections to speak of. These Buick's are loaded with stainless trim and bright work that looks great. Before paint, the photos of the restoration show an extremely straight and solid body with no signs of accidents or damage. The car is laser straight and looks great in black. Both front and rear chrome bumpers have been rechromed to a show quality and look great. Inside, the interior is all new and correct to the 1962 standards. Seats, carpet, headliner, door panels, kick panels and dash all look great with no wear or damage showing. The car retains its original AM radio which still works as well as power steering, power brakes, power windows, power seat and A/C. Under the hood, the 401 Cu In V8 runs great and starts with no issues. The car went through a full mechanical restoration in which the motor and transmission were both said to be rebuilt. On the road the car drives as good as it looks. Very straight and has plenty of power. The transmission shifts as it should and the car runs great with no smoking. In the trunk, you will find a full size spare as well as a jack. All four tires are correct white wall bias plys wrapped around steel wheels with Super Deluxe wheel covers. The underside is very solid and has been lightly undercoated. The car is being sold on a clean Ohio title showing the previous owner has had the car since 2005.
