Description

Motoexotica is offering another incredible custom. This 1969 Volkswagen Beetle has had tens of thousands of dollars and man hours invested into it to make it what you see today. The car was restored 3 years ago by a head of a local body shop and still looks as good today as the day it rolled out of the paint room. The paint on the car is a Toyota Camry color of Magnetic Gray Metallic which looks great. With the exceptions of a few small rock chips to the front nose, the paint is nearly perfect. The steel body has had all of the emblems, hinges, handles, bumpers and holes removed and professionally welded smooth. The original fenders have been removed and replaced with custom fiberglass fenders to support the wider wheels and custom running board. The fenders are 2 inches wider then stock to support the 17x9 and 17x7 wheels that this little bug rides on. The doors have been reverse hinged with hidden hinges. The taillights are from a Chevy HHR and the mirrors are from a Honda CBR600. Inside, the interior is all custom and looks great. Finished in black, that has been new seats installed out of an '09 Scion TC which are nearly perfect with no notable imperfections. The carpet is all new as well as the door panels and headliner. During the build, the original dash was removed and a new piece of steel replaced it. The original speedometer was put back in the dash but the rest kept clean in the matching color of the exterior. A Sun Pro Tachometer was installed under the dash as well as a fire extinguisher on the passenger side kick panel. The air suspension controls are just behind the drivers seat, under the rear seat. The motor is a 1641cc four cylinder that has around 800 miles on it since the build. The internals include a 110 eagle cam, counter weight crank and a lightened flywheel. The motor is fed with dual Weber carbs and breathes through a merged header into a Supertrap muffler that sounds great. The engine compartment has been painted to match the rest of the car and looks great. Firewall has been replaced with just a smooth piece of metal to finish off the clean look. The suspension set up is an adjustable air shock set up in the front and rear. This is controlled by a compressor behind the rear seat and adjustments under the rear seat. The front suspension is an adjustable front beam with 2 1/2" front spindles. The front brakes are discs and there are drums in the rear. This is an award winning car that has taken home two first place awards at the Birmingham World Of Wheels the last two years as well as at Bug Blast. VIN number is 119503861.
