Description

When General Motors initiated the redesign of the B-body and C-body for the 1977 model year the De Ville (and all other full-size GMs) shrank by 9.8 in and about 750 lb. The new standard engine was a 425 in (7.0 L) V8, with the 350 Cu in LF9 diesel becoming an option for 1978. In 1977, the first generation of down-sized Cadillac's included mechanically similar De Ville and Fleetwood, with the latter still occupying the top of the lineup. The models primarily differed in minor trim, interior upholstery & equipment levels. These were the first DeVille models to be marketed without fender skirts over the rear wheels. Three-sided, wrap-around tail lamps were a 1977 feature only (although they would re-appear in 1987).The 1977 Cadillac Coupe DeVille you see here is an incredibly preserved example, only showing 34,535 ORIGINAL miles. This is a two owner car in which the original owner had until 2005. We have the original Warranty information sheet that shows the car was purchased in Pekin Illinois on April 21, 1977 from Brenkman Oldsmobile Cadillac. The car has been so meticulously maintained that the previous owners have written documentation of the correct replacement tires and battery for the car, per Cadillac judges. The original tires and battery are no longer available so they wrote to the Cadillac Car Show Judges to see what the acceptable replacements would be to make sure the white wall width would be the same. The paint on the car is in near perfect condition with no notable imperfections or damage to be found. The black has a mirror like finish as you can see in the photos with no bubbling or rot to be found anywhere on the car. The front and rear bumpers are in perfect condition along with the rubber surrounding them. In the rear, you will find 1977 exclusive, three sided tail lights which are both in perfect condition. The car shows that its always been garage kept. Inside, the interior is all original with virtually no imperfections to be found. The front and rear leather bench seats look great with no imperfections or major spots of wear. The front seat is power and all functions work as they should. We have found nothing inside of this car that does not work. From the cruise control to the A/C, everything works as it should and has been meticulously maintained from day one. Carpet, door panels, headliner and dash are all in wonderful condition as is all of the wood trim inside. The only imperfection we have found inside is a bit of the steering wheel wood trim has come off of the top. Very common for these cars. Under the hood you will find the monster 425 Cu In carbureted V8. The motor runs great with no smoking and starts with a turn of the key. The engine compartment is all original with no damage or signs or leaks. The automatic transmission shifts as it should with no issues. In the trunk you will find a full size spare and jack along with the original trunk lining and clean plastic mat. VIN number is 6D47S7Q261887 and the current mileage shows 34,535 which is original for the car. It's being sold on a clean Illinois title where it's been all of its life, showing the previous owner has had the car since 2005.
