Description

Since the Mustang had undergone a major restyling in 1971, the 1972 models saw no big styling changes, only minor cosmetic ones. Probably due to increasing governmental fuel economy regulations, all of the Boss cars were dropped from the 1972 lineup. The Boss 351 and both versions of the 429 engine were dropped. During the early part of '72, a special 351HO model was offered. It featured a low compression version of the Boss 351 engine, with a special high-lift cam, mechanical lifters, forged aluminum pistons and a special 4-barrel manifold. The only "performance" model that remained for the entire '72 model year was the Mach 1. The Mach 1, like all other '72 models, were virtually unchanged. Production for 1972 topped out at 125,813.The car you see here is a one family owned car from the state of Florida. We purchased this car from the family who originally established the city of Venice Florida back in the late 1800's. They purchased the car brand new in August of 1972 in Venice. The car was then sold to his son in 1983 who owned the car until we purchased it. The car is still on the 1983 Florida title. Finished in what some say is the best Mustang color ever produced, Grabber Blue, with a white top, the car is incredible straight and in great condition. The car is loaded with options that include A/C, power steering, power brakes and a power top. The Grabber Blue paint on the car is in very good overall condition and with no major imperfections to speak of. The paint was done on the car a few years ago and isn't show quality, but retains a very good shine still. The rear bumper does look original for the car with only a small bit of pitting showing. The painted front bumper looks great with no damage. Glass is in good condition all around but the rubber appears to be original for the car and does show some cracking. Inside, the seats appear to be original for the car as well as the door panels. The carpet is new and looks great with no tears or fading. The dash is solid with no buckling or cracking. Both front seats are in very good condition with no rips or tears. The bench seat in the rear is equally as nice with no imperfections. Under the hood, the 302 V8 is said to be the original for the car. Connected to the FMX automatic transmission and 3.00 rear axle, the car is a joy to drive. Cruising at today's highway speeds is no problem for this Mustang. The engine compartment is very clean and shows no signs of damage or repairs. In the trunk, you will find an original style bias ply spare. The trunk is solid with no rot that we have found. The underside has been undercoated. All four tires are brand new wrapped around rally wheels that are all in great condition. VIN number is 2F03F175185 and the current mileage shows 20,278 miles which is said to be original for the car but we have no documentation to prove this. The car is being sold on a clean Florida title showing the title was issued 8/10/1983 and was previously issued 8/30/1972.
