Description

The egg crate grille featured on the 1955 Fords was widened into a series of rectangles for 1956, but this subtle exterior change was nothing compared to Ford's adoption of a 12-volt electrical system across the line. The Crown Victoria Skyliner's sales were plummeting with just 603 made, and it would be replaced by a convertible the next year. A new addition at midyear was the "Town Victoria" 4-door hardtop model which, along with the new Customline 2-door hardtop, were meant to compete with the Chevrolet Bel Air. The Parklane, a Fairlane trimmed Tudor station wagon, was added to compete with the Chevrolet Nomad. The car you see here is a wonderful example of a '56 Ford Fairlane Victoria. The car has tons of old school, aftermarket parts to make it into a vintage sleeper hot rod. The car has gone through a documented restoration with receipts for everything that was done to the car in hand; totaling over $10,000. Finished in Raven Black, the car has benefited from an older paint job and restoration but still shows wonderful today. All of the trim and stainless on the car is in great condition with no major imperfections. The same goes for the front and rear chrome bumpers that both appear to have been rechromed during the restoration. Inside, the interior has been refinished in its original style pattern with red seats and door panels with black carpet. The color combination looks great. The most major change inside the car is the addition of the three speed manual on the floor instead of what is commonly see on the column. This gives the car a sportier, fun drive and much more enjoyment for the driver. The seats are in great condition as are the door panels and black carpet. The dash has been painted to match the exterior of the car and is in great condition. There has been an AM/FM/CD player installed under the dash which works with no problems along with the Sun Pro tach mounted to the steering column. Under the hood, you will find the correct 292 Cu In V8 that has been finished with Offenhauser finned valve covers, new Edelbrock carb and new 4bbl intake. The engine compartment is very clean and not overly detailed. Connected to the three speed manual transmission on the floor, the car has tons of power and is a blast to drive. With its true dual exhaust with glass pack mufflers, the car sounds exactly as you would want it to. Very vintage and very cool. The trunk is nicely finished with a full size spare as well as a jack. This is a wonderful driving '56 Ford two door hardtop that we have over $10,000 in receipts for the restoration that was completed around 5 years ago. From suspension to brakes to a complete engine rebuild, the car has completely gone through. The mileage currently shows 14,193 and the VIN number is M6FV275850.
