Description

Motoexotica is proud to offer three incredible hot rods from the collection of Scotty Grey. Scotty was a common face, seen on Boyd Coddington's hit TV series American Rodder, purchasing many of his customs. They had a long standing friendship that was brought together by these amazing machines. Scotty has owned a string of well-known vehicles that, taken individually, would be the focal point of anybody's garage but, taken en masse, it's almost unbelievable. Scotty has put the trust in us to sell three of these incredible hot rods. The car you see here was Scotty's first hot rod that was built by Hercules Motorcar Company in Tampa Florida. Hercules Motorcar Company has been around for more then 40 years. For the last 30 years they've been building the Hercules Woody which is an all wood body built on a custom tubular frame. The body on this car is made of maple and looks incredible. What isn't made of maple on this car is all steel. The paint is finished in House of Kolor Candy Scarlet Orange which is nearly perfect. Mounted on top of the Hartz cloth top you will find a custom fabricated surfboard rack holding a Gallagher balsa wood surfboard with "sunrise" fin. The surfboard rack was custom fabricated by Duane Mayer, Boyd's shop foreman. Inside, you will find a professionally appointed leather interior that is nearly perfect. The leather tea seats with matching door panels look great with no wear showing. The same goes for the tan carpets throughout the car. The dash has been painted the same color as the exterior of the car and has custom pin striping by Dennis Ricklefs. The chrome steering column is tilt and comes with a banjo steering wheel. All gauges are from AutoMeter with gold bezels and the shifter is from Lokar. Other options inside include A/C, AM/FM/CD stereo under the seat, power windows, vintage picnic accessories, a custom painted skim board and guitars.Under the steel hood there is a 350 Cu In Chevy V8 powering this woody wagon. Connected to a turbo 350 transmission, the car drives great. The motor has body color valve covers as well as a body color air cleaner with custom pin striping. Under the car the detail didn't stop. With a custom tubular frame that has been painted the same color as the exterior, there are many chrome and stainless options under the car to put it over the top. The entire front suspension has been chromed and the 9" rear end has been painted to match the body. This car was a top 10 pick at the Good Guys Lone Star Nationals and a Boyd Coddington Sweet 16 Pros Pick a the Scottsdale Southwest Nationals. It's a proven show winner with an extreme attention to detail. With 3,052 miles showing, the car has been driven and not just a trailer queen, show piece. VIN number is 183374192 and is being sold on a clean California title, titled as a 1933 Ford.
