Goggomobil was a series of microcars produced in the Bavarian town Dingolfing after World War II by Glas. Glas produced three models on the Goggomobil platform: the Goggomobil T sedan, the Goggomobil TS coup, and the Goggomobil TL van. The engine was an air-cooled, two-stroke, two-cylinder unit originally displacing 250 cc, but later available in increased sizes of 300 cc and 400 cc. It had an electric pre-selective transmission built by Getrag and a manual clutch. The engine was behind the rear wheels. Suspension was independent all round using coil springs with swing axles.Between 1957 and 1961 some 700 sports cars called Goggomobil Darts were produced by Buckle Motors Pty Ltd in Sydney, Australia. Other Goggomobil models were also produced under license, including saloon, coupe, coupe-convertible and light van variants. These were fitted with Australian produced fiberglass bodies in place of the steel bodies of their German counterparts. Australian production totaled approximately 5,000 units. The car you see here is a recreation of the famous Goggomobil Dart and is in wonderful driving condition. With the 250cc 2 stroke and 4 speed manual transmission, the car is a joy to drive and is sure to make all eyes fixed on you! The paint on the car is nearly perfect with no imperfections that we have found. The fiberglass body is solid with no cracking or visible seams. These bodies are very well constructed and straight as an arrow. Inside, the vinyl bucket seats are nearly perfect with no visible wear to be found. The same goes for the carpet. The speedometer works with no problems as do the lights and blinkers. Steering wheel is solid with no cracking or rot. Under the rear bonnet, the little 250cc 2 stroke runs great with just minimal smoking from the 30:1 gas/oil mixture. The engine compartment is very clean and tidy with no damage showing. The underside is solid with no rot. The wheels are all in great condition with correct Goggomobil hub caps. Tires look good and are newer as well. Current mileage shows 9,894 miles and the VIN number is 0274834. The car is being sold on a clean Arizona title.
