Description

The International Harvester Scout was one of the first production American civilian off-road sport utility vehicles. It was originally created as a competitor to the Jeep, and like that vehicle, early models featured fold-down windshields. The first generation Scout and second generation Scout II were produced as two-door vehicles with options of a half cab pickup truck or a removable full hard or soft top. Scouts were manufactured from 1961 to 1980, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Scout II's were manufactured from mid-year 1971 to 1980. The Scout II is most identifiable by its different front grilles. 1977-79 Scout II's used the same grille as the 1975 - 1976 models between the same headlight bezels. The new chrome grille had two large horizontal bars with three vertical support lines and the "International" nameplate moved up to the center of the grille on the left side. This particular 1977 Scout II has been refinished in beautiful Blue and White with base clear paint done to professional standards. This was done over an extremely solid body. The front and rear bumpers have been replaced and are in great condition. The front bumper is custom steel and the rear is chrome. Both are in great condition with no major imperfections. All of the trim pieces going around the truck are in very good condition as well. The top in the rear is removable. Inside the interior is all original with no major imperfections to speak of except 2 small cracks on the dash which is typical of a vehicle of this age. The seats are all in great original condition with no major wear showing. The same goes for the carpet and door panels. There has been an updated AM/FM stereo installed. Under the hood this vehicle has the desirable 304 V8 which is attached to an Automatic transmission traveling only 43,985 original miles. The vehicle runs and drives beautifully with all mechanical aspects working at this time. This vehicle is equipped with the rare and desired A/C with blows cold. The underside is clean and solid with no rust or rot that we have seen. The VIN is G0062GGD29631 and is being sold on a clean Colorado title. Mileage shows 43,985 miles.
