Description

The soft-top Nissan Patrol 60 (two-door 86.6 in wheelbase) and G60 (two-door 98.4 in wheelbase) were first sold in Australia in 1960. Left-hand drive L60/GL60 models were sold outside of Australia. The 60 series gained attention as the first vehicle to drive across the Simpson Desert in Australia. US customers could only get Patrols from 1962 until 1969. An extra long wheelbase version, the H60, was also available. The 4WD Nissan Patrol 60 series was produced in short, medium and long wheel-base versions. It had a manual transmission type-F3B83L at first with three and later with four speeds, two-speed transfer case with part-time four-wheel drive. The motor was the P engine, an (241.4 cu in) inline overhead-valve six-cylinder, featuring bathtub-shaped combustion chambers and a fully balanced seven-bearing crank shaft. With two doors in front and one at the back and four seats (driver, and companion in front, two parallel back seats), the extra long wheelbase version (the H60) was available with eight-passenger capacity. These Nissan Patrol's are very rarely seen. US customers could only get Patrols from 1962 until 1969. Patrols were sold through Datsun dealerships, making it at the time the only Nissan-badged vehicles sold in the United States until the early 1980s when the Datsun marque was being phased out.. This makes this Patrol a very rare find. With only a handful in the U.S., this is one of the rare examples that is running and driving. The original engine was replaced with a later 70's SD33 diesel engine and automatic transmission. There has also been a custom 4 foot trailer made to match the truck. The truck you see here is a 1966 Nissan Patrol. The body seems very solid overall with no rot that we have seen. The truck has been painted in the last few years and looks very good. There are a few minor nicks and dings but overall a very straight and solid body. The trailer is equally as nice and has a set of original Nissan Patrol wheels installed. There is some rot to the underside of the trailer. Inside, the truck appears to be mostly original with just some reupholstering of the seats and new carpet installed in the front. The paint appears to be all original inside along with the gauges, headliner and steering wheel. There is some wear showing to the original perforated fiberboard headliner. Under the hood, the SD33 inline 6 cylinder diesel engine is very clean and is a later 70's model. The motor does start and run with a bit of smoking at startup when cold. It's connected to an automatic transmission that does have some slipping. The four wheel drive is not hooked up due to clearance issues with the transfer case and front axle.We aren't representing this as a perfect truck and are selling it as you see it and as described. The VIN number is L6007673 and the current mileage shows 49,402 which is said to be actual for the truck.
