Description

In 1965, Chrysler full-size cars made a comeback and the full-size Plymouth line included three special Furys: the Fury I, Fury II, and Fury III. The Fury I was marketed to police and taxi fleets, or sold to private customers wanting a basic, no-frills full-sized car, while the Fury II and Fury III were progressive upgrades from the Fury I in trim, specifications, and equipment. Many Sport Fury models (as well as Fury III models) came loaded with options such as automatic transmission, power steering, white sidewall tires (along with full wheel covers), stereo radios, vinyl tops and air conditioning. The overall design changed, with the grille losing chrome but gaining two vertical stacked headlights on each side. All new Fury's got a new 119 in wheelbase which was 1 in longer than before. This 1965 Sport Fury Convertible is a highly optioned car that comes with a fresh 440 big block installed under the hood connected to an automatic transmission. This is an original 383 big block car that comes loaded with options. Decoding the fender tag you will find that this car came from the factory with the following options: Power windows, 4 way seats, variable wipers with washers, power brakes, A/C with heater, front console, AM/FM radio with reverberater, back up lights, retractable belts in the front and rear, front bucket seats, fender skirts and center console. Outside, the paint is in very good overall condition with no major imperfections to speak of. There are a few scratches and dings but nothing major. The black convertible top is power and goes up and down with no issues with just a flick of the switch. The car has had an older restoration performed to it that still shows well today. The front and rear bumpers both look good with just some minor pitting and dings. The rest of the steel trim around the car is equally as nice and appears to be original.Inside, the interior appears to be all original and has never had any kind of reupholster work or restoration done to it with the exception of seat covers. While not perfect, it has held up very good for the last 47 years. The dash does have one crack under the carpeted dash pad on the driver's side. The carpet is in good overall condition with only some minor wear, mainly to the driver's side. There has been an aftermarket AM/FM/CD player installed as well as an Auto Gage gauge cluster that shows Oil pressure, amps and temperature. The center console mounted tach works with no problems. Under the hood, the big block 440 Cu InV8 runs great and starts with a turn of the key. The engine compartment is very clean and shows no signs of damage or rot. There has been upgraded chrome valve covers as well as a chrome air cleaner installed. The car comes with power steering, power brakes and A/C. The trunk is solid and has been undercoated. It includes a full size spare and jack. This is a great convertible Mopar that comes with everything you need. Current mileage shows 15,562 and the VIN number is P452245730. The car is being sold on a clean Arizona title showing that it was first registered January, 1965 in Arizona.
