Description

After receiving mostly cosmetic changes for 1953, a second Ranch Wagon model, a slightly fancier version in the Customline series, was added for 1954, the year Ford's new Y-block V8 replaced the flathead unit. The two models were renamed Ranch Wagon and Custom Ranch Wagon for 1955, when the entire Ford station wagon set became a series of its own. For 1957, the Del Rio Ranch Wagon was introduced (replacing both the Custom Ranch Wagon and the Parklane), sporting special ranch-pattern upholstery. That same model was the basis for the new 1957 Ranchero. There were three Ranch Wagons the following year, as the first four-door Ranch Wagon was added to the model range. The Del Rio was dropped for 1959, replaced by a one-year-only two-door Country Sedan. By this time, full-size two-door station wagons were fast fading in popularity, and the 1961 two-door Ranch Wagon was the last full-size two-door wagon ever built (along with the two-door Plymouth Deluxe Suburban of that same year), leaving the four-door as the sole Ranch Wagon model for 1962. This 1959 Ford Ranch Wagon Country Sedan is a very nice, original car that has only had one repaint its entire life. The interior is all original and has been covered with seat covers. The front and rear bumpers both appear to be original for the car and so show some age. The trim is in good overall condition with no major dents or imperfections. There is some bubbling as you can see in the photos on the lower rockers as well as around the wheel well's. Inside, the seats and interior appear to be all original with no restoration ever being performed. The seats are original and have been covered with seat covers. Under the covers, there is a tear to the drivers seat but the rest of the seats are in good condition. There have been seat belts installed in the front and rear. There have been a set of aftermarket gauges installed from Autogage that include oil pressure, volts and water temperature. All work with no issues. Under the hood, the 292 Cu In V8 was said to have been rebuilt in 1995 and runs great. The car recently made a 100 mile trip from southern Missouri to Kansas City with no issues. Connected to the three speed manual transmission, the car drives great with no issues. This is a great survivor car that is currently showing 17,034 miles which is said to be 117,034 original miles. VIN number is C9KR175556 and the car is being sold on a clean Missouri title.
