Description

In 1957 a tubular X-frame without side rails was adopted. This resulted in greater structural rigidity and provided for a lower body without a loss of usable space. Front end styling was marked by rubber bumper guard tips and dual circular lamps set into the lower bumper section. Side trim was revised and a dual taillight theme was used. Identifying the standard 62 models were bright metal moldings, just forward of the rear wheel openings, highlighted by seven horizontal wind splits. At the upper end this fender break trim joined a horizontal molding that ran along a conical flare extending towards both tail lamps. A crest medallion was seen on the forward angled rear fins. The rear fender and deck contour was trimmed with broad, sculptured stainless steel beauty panels. Also seen were "shark" style fins pointing towards the back of the cars. This particular 1957 Cadillac Series 62 coupe was just purchased from the owner who has had the car since 1998. This car was part of his 50's retirement collection and has always been garaged in Colorado since new. Before the restoration, the car was incredibly original and solid according to the previous owner. Outside, the car has been refinished black. The paint is in great condition with no notable imperfections to speak of. The same goes for all chrome and moldings. Both front and rear bumpers look great and the majority of the emblems on the car are new on the car. Inside the interior is in great condition with no major wear to be found. The front and rear bench seats look great and have both been freshly reupholstered. The same goes for the door panels. The carpets, headliner and dash all appear to be in great condition with no notable wear showing. Under the hood the vehicle retains the 365 CI engine attached to a 4 speed Hydra-Matic transmission that shifts smoothly. The vehicle runs and drives great with no known issues. The vehicle is equipped with power steering and power brakes.Inside the trunck is very solid with no rot that we have seen, the same goes for the underside. Accompanying the sale are the original jack, spare and tools. The VIN is 5762015455 and is being sold on a clean Colorado title showing the prior owned the vehicle since 1998.
