Description

In response to declining sales of the Model T, Ford announced in late 1925 that a new 'Improved Ford' would be available for the 1926 model year. The new Fords marked the first major restyling of the Model T since 1917. New fenders, running boards, bodies, hood and even a slightly modified chassis made these Ford visually different compared to the cars that preceded them. For the first time, the touring car was given an opening door on the driver's side. The most significant change, however, was the choice of colors that became available. Since 1914, all Model T's had been available in 'any color you want as long as it is black' but the cars built during the final two years of production were available in optional colors such as gray, maroon, brown, green and, of course, black.Factory accessories offered in 1926 and 1927 included front and rear bumpers, wire wheels, nickel plated radiator shell and vacuum operated windshield wiper. At around $520, the two door coupe was the third most expensive T available, nearly twice what the Roadster cost. This 1926 Ford Model T woody wagon is a wonderful driving T that has benefited from a recent paint job by world famous Hot Rod builder Johnny Vegas from Hi Speed Rod & Custom in Las Vegas Nevada. He painted the T to make it resemble a true barn find with worn paint and rust on the body. This is a faux paint job that gives it tons of character and defiantly sets it apart from other Model T's. The wood body is in very good condition and has been freshly varnished. There are snap on window curtains on all of the windows. Inside, the interior has been completely reupholstered with vinyl seats that look great and go with the exterior paint job very well. All of the wood paneling inside is in great condition. The wood floor has been covered with a rubber mat that is in good condition with no rips or tears. There are two rows of seating as well as space behind the rear seat for storage. Under the hood, the 4 cylinder runs great and is connected to the classic Model T transmission. There has been an updated two speed rear end installed so this T is drivable up to around 45 mph. The underside is very clean and tidy with no rot to be found. The wood wheels all appear to be newer with newer bias ply tires all around. The engine is very clean and nicely detailed. VIN number is 13254629 and the car is being sold on a clean Arizona title.
